Legion Praetors

The Legion Praetors were my first assignement for the Horus Heresy. At that time everything was done by hand in clay at the actual scale. I remember that I suprised some people at the studio as I was going to sculpt them in Super Sculpey. Simon Egan worked with plastiline and many worked with resin dolly parts.

Anyway, until then I wasn’t much of a Warhammer 40 000 fan but these Praetors changed that very much. My love for Sci-Fi started with them and at the end of the day they are anyway knights in space. And coming from Warhammer Fantasy I loved the design liberty that round bases offer.

Every now and then I still see these Praetors painted and converted by many on social media, I m very happy that they are still around.
